May 20, 2006 - DHRacers LLC, riding for Team
Honda Iron Horse, participated in its fifth American Diabetes Association’s
Tour de Cure charity ride in Long Beach, CA. The team is very passionate
about this event and cause. Diabetes has had a very pronounced impact on the
team. On July 7th 2003, team manager Doug Heiser donated a kidney
to his wife Lori. Lori lost all kidney function due to her 35-year battle
with Juvenile onset Diabetes. Team Honda Iron Horse would like to thank
everyone for sponsoring the participants in the 2006 Southern California
Tour de Cure, which included Frank Blaha and Doug and Lori Heiser. Thanks to
our sponsors’ help and generous support, Team Honda Iron Horse exceeded
their 2006 goal and raised over $2000.00. This year’s tour wound 38 miles
throughout the beautiful beach communities of Long Beach, Sunset Beach and
Huntington Beach. We’re so grateful for all of your support, which brought
us one step closer to achieving the team’s fund-raising goal. We would also
like to thank the team sponsors for providing such great equipment to ride
for such a great cause. The team would also like to thank you on
behalf of the American Diabetes Association and the 20.8 million Americans
who suffer from diabetes. Your generous gift to Team Honda Iron Horse made
and will continue to make a huge difference in the fight against this deadly
disease.
